So UK is not interested in postporn…
Unless it comes form NY signed by big names in EEUU like A.K. Burns and A.L. Steiner, of course. The reality is that UK is not interested in anything coming from Europe. Postporn and queer theory is a great concern in the art world in countries like Spain, Germany or Austria, but of course UK does give a fuck unless it is properly fucked in english.
Community Action Center is a 69-minute long film about… post porn. Call it any name but we are talking here about the same shit:
«Because the video contains sexually explicit content, the term ‘porn’ is relevant and the artists have an interest in exploring the trappings of the term itself. Sex, sexuality and the complexities of gendered bodies are inherently political. Queer sex and feminist agency is a shared acknowledgment of reciprocal penetration. This project is a small archive of an intergenerational community built on collaboration, friendship, sex and art. The work attempts to explore a consideration of feminist fashion, sexual aesthetics and an expansive view of what is defined as ‘sex’.»
Even the Tate has bought the video, which is cute, and fun sometimes, but nothing great, and above all, nothing that has not been taking place for years in Europe. With 0 recognition from UK.

Hi Maria, I’m from the UK and writing my thesis on post-porn (and creating free workshops and an open education free course on ethical pornography), but completely agree that the UK tends to look to the US and not Europe – this needs to change! I would love to have a conversation with you about post-porn – please do send me an email. Hope to be in touch very soon.
