La cita forma parte del libro de David Shields Reality Hunger, un libro sobre el copyright hecho de cientos de citas ajenas. Un libro que habla sobre la realidad y la ficción y la autobiografía como género universal. Un libro que crea un discurso a partir de todos esas citas «no propias», que toman un nuevo sentido, tal como Shields las organiza en su texto.

No sé de quien es la cita. Y no lo voy a mirar en las últimas hojas del libro de Shields donde se señalan a los autores, que fueron incluídas por imposición de los abogados de Random House, y que Shields invita a recortar, mediante unas tijeras, por la línea de puntos.
