Rocio Boliver in London!
For one night only, direct from Mexico City’s performance underground, ]performance s p a c e [ are excited to platform the work of countercultural icon, Rocio Boliver. Thursday 8th November, from 8pm.
Born in 1956 (Mexico City) and emerging from a television(video) & Mexican Theatre heritage, Boliver’s practice is a sharp and focused critique of the many repressive ideologies that burden the lives of women in Mexico.
“…the art of performance protects me; it’s my ally and punishes the meddling of censorship and reprimand or attempted castration by turning them all into part of the show. If anyone dares to indulge in such actions during a performance, they’ll be devoured and end up being part of the furniture, thus enriching the transgression. Performance swallows everything; it’s voracious, precise, skilful & categorical in the struggle against idiocy.”
So much looking forward.
