CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: New Maternalisms/New Materialisms
Deadline: August 15, 2011 (Submissions must arrive by this date)

Artist and curator Natalie Loveless seeks submissions of performance-based video works on the topic of motherhood/the maternal.

Almost forty years after the first installment of Mary Kelly’s germinal Post Partum Document, what is interesting today in biographical art based in the maternal? New Materialisms/New Maternalisms brings together contemporary artists whose work investigates how the circulation of images and ideologies shapes contemporary understandings of motherhood and mothering.

Submissions should include:
DVD of submitted work or link to video on-line for viewing
Description of submitted work
CV and short bio

María Llopis

El trabajo de María Llopis se mueve en diferentes medios y soportes, como la fotografía, el vídeo y el live art performance. Desarrolla una visión alternativa propia de la identidad sexual y de género siempre partiendo de un fuerte posicionamiento político feminista. Llopis está en la actualidad escribiendo un libro titulado Maternidades Subversivas y que tratará los temas de parto orgásmico, pornografía feminista y maternidad, maternidad transexual y trangénero, y partenogénesis, entre otros.
